Aromas of rosewater and exotic spice capture the essence of this gem before washing over the palate with waves of slightly off-dry ambrosia—ginger-spiced nectarine and tropical fruit garnished with Meyer lemon and orange peel. It’s medium bodied with a creamy, oily texture and lingering aftertaste of ripe pit fruit and that tell tale lip-smacking aftertaste. Pour alongside green curry chicken with steamed rice. Featherstone Estate Winery Sauvignon Blanc 2013

A double-gold winner at the All-Canadian Wine Championships. Big kudos to co-owner and winemaker, Dave Johnson. This is alluring on the nose—soft floral notes and tropical fruit—and absolutely delicious on the palate and mouth-watering finish. With or without food, this is a go to Sauvignon Blanc for this summer; it’s loaded with flavour, tang and charm. Lemony citrus, pineapple and melon bathe the palate, replaying on the crisp refreshing aftertaste. It’s balanced, complex and dare I say… yummy. (Vic Harradine)
