Ghost Pines ‘Winemaker’s Blend’ Zinfandel 2011
Sonoma and San Joaquin Counties $19.95 (135384) 15.4% alcohol
This sports classic Zin aromas with loads of dark berry jam and baking spice. On the palate, a gusher of black Bing cherry and bramble berry jam garnished with bittersweet chocolate and wisps of sweet vanilla meld with excellent moderating acidity. It makes for a balanced and fruit-laden Zin that’s medium-full weight with good mouth feel and a spicy fruit-forward aftertaste; it’s good value. (Vic Harradine)
