Rich aromas of dark berry fruit, spice-infused black plum and floral notes blossom forth from this mid-full weight, very good value Cab. It’s balanced and brimming with dense, fruit-laden flavour—dark, briary berry, black cherry and dried currant—interweaving with mocha and notions of roasted herbs. Granny Smith apple and ripe pear on the nose, it streaks over the palate with a crisp, refreshing stream of green apple, white peach and oodles of racy, tangy lemon. Medium bodied and full of nerve and verve, it finished in a blaze of citrus—pineapple, white grapefruit and spiced, lemony tang. Pour with pan-seared white fish under a generous squeeze of fresh lemon. (Vic Harradine)
