The grapes for this appealing and accessible red were grown on some of the highest elevation vineyards in the world on the eastern slopes of the Andes. Aromas of blackberry, plum, and dark raspberry meld with exotic spice, delicate floral notes and hints of mocha. Dry, medium-full bodied, the palate flavours are tangy and fresh—redcurrant, blackberry, tea leaves and espresso bean. Well-balanced with fined-grained tannins, piquant spice notes unfold into the lengthy finish. Pour alongside a mixed grill or your latest chili iteration. (Lisa Isabelle)
