• The following 2015 Domaine de Vervine Vacqueyras is a grenache-dominant red blend of 65% grenache/30% syrah/5% mourvèdre. In order to use the AOC Vacqueyras designation, the regulatory body require at least 50% of any red wine to be made from grenache grapes.

Aromas of ripe, dark cherry/berry fruit, peppery spice and wisps of iodine are precursors to a mouthful of über-ripe black plum, kirsch liqueur, savory herbs and warm peppery notes persisting right through the finish. It’s medium-full bodied with good texture and lengthy aftertaste. This pours particularly well with beef tortillas, grilled gourmet sausage or fully loaded cheese burgers; it has good heft and crunchy acidity melding with the very ripe fruit. (Vic Harradine)
