June 3, 2016 marks the opening of LCBO’s newest “Products of the World” specialty store. The destination boutique at 5100 Erin Mills Parkway, Suite 5035 in Mississauga offers 30 different and unique wines, in addition to the 120 which make up our general list and Vintages collections from Chile. This selection is believed to be one of the best single-store assortments available outside of Chile.
Many of the wines are from LCBO’s Consignment Program, which means they are available to customers for the first time outside of bars and licensed restaurants. The selection will be regularly refreshed to keep the assortment interesting.
Products have been chosen to appealto a wide range of tastes and budgets. The store is staffed with knowledgeable customer service representatives and a product consultant who can offer expert advice on these new offerings.
LCBO’s “Products of the World” specialty store program now includes ten destination stores.
The first featured Greek wines and spirits in the heart of Toronto’s Greektown, followed by the Portugal store in The Stockyards, Spain store in Etobicoke, New Zealand store in North Toronto, the Argentina boutique in Aurora, three Kosher store locations with two in Toronto and one in Thornhill, and the East Asia boutique in Markham. Customers are responding positively to these expanded international selections; overall sales at Products of the World are up 36 per cent for niche/ethnic destination brands. More countries are planned for destination stores later this year.
