Fortified Wine
Portugal: Port
• Fonseca is now in its fifth generation of winemakers of the Guimaraens family who are revered in Portugal and also among Port-lovers world-wide. Late Bottled Vintage (those in the know call it ‘LBV’ now that you also know it, you can call it that, too) LBV Port is bottled after at least four to six years of aging in wooden barrel and, like Vintage port, was sourced from a single vintage. However, LBV Port is ready to drink upon purchase. This wine was not fined nor filtered so deserves to be decanted and poured through a strainer while being poured into the decanter before serving.
