  • The doyen winemaker of the Tannat-obsessed appellation of Madiran is arguably self-taught vigneron, Alain Brumont, who owns Château Montus and the following Château Bouscasse. One thing you must understand about Madiran, the star of the show is the Tannat grape. If you look up tannin in the dictionary, there should be a picture of a Tannat grape bunch. However, in spite of the warning, the following red is coming around and only a few years from optimum consumption. If you have a cool place to store a half dozen, don’t hesitate.
