Dry, medium-full bodied, the palate’s awash with dark chocolate flavours, dark berry and plum, elusive floral notes and savoury nuances. Twelve months in American and French oak add smoky, toasty notes while ripe tannin and fine acidity bring balance and structure. Bold and flavourful, it finishes warm and spicy, the dark chocolate note lingering. It’s a lovely match for roast lamb. (Susan Desjardins)
