DOC Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo, Italy $10.95 (35342) 13.0% alcohol
A lovely salmon hue in the glass, aromas of roses and strawberry abound. There’s a tang-laden flow of red fruit—cherry, strawberry and raspberry—delivered on a satin-smooth, medium-bodied, nicely textured underpinning. It finishes crisp and refreshing. This really shines when sipped on a warm sunny day, either on its own or when paired with a charcuterie board, or an olive-oiled salad of arugula decorated with crumbled chèvre, or a bagel slathered with cream cheese and topped with smoked salmon, thinly sliced red onion and capers.
