Their flagship wine; it’s deep dark purple in the glass with aromas of toasty oak—French, ½ new, ½ one-year old—and dark berry fruit. Layers of flavours, rich and complex, include sweet ripe mulberry (15.5% alcohol), black currant and black Damson plum with hints of black pepper and savoury spice. It’s elegant, medium bodied, generously textured with a firm tannin structure. The finish is lengthy and perfectly balanced with generous cherry tang and zest. Drink 2010 to 2016.
