Colognole Chianti Rufina 2004
DOCG Chianti Rufina $20.45 (974501)
Lower yields, elevated vineyards and a longer ripening season coalesce in this fine wine. Cherry, mineral and earthy notes waft from the glass while the fruit forward flavours include currant, cassis, and notes of licorice and truffles. This is medium bodied, well balanced with a medium length finish. There's good value here and is paired well with veal scaloppini.
