Baked apple pie drizzled with caramel comes to mind when sniffing this blend — 97% chardonnay and 3% other white varieties. Ripe orchard fruits—apple, pear and peach—express themselves on the palate in a creamy fashion—courtesy full malolactic conversion and partial ageing on lees—along with notes of lemon curd, nutmeg, vanilla and a mild almond bite on the dry, lingering finish and aftertaste. This is medium-full bodied with bright acidity and great versatility at the table. Pour with pork tenderloin and vanilla-scented cream sauce or roast chicken with mushroom risotto. (Louise Boutin)
