Floral notes, honeyed apple and pear introduce a creamy smooth wash of sweet, ripe fruit—apple, peach and honeydew melon—interlaced with lemon citrus and grilled pineapple. It’s mid weight with generous mouth feel and a long, delicious finish and aftertaste. Perfect sipped on its own, it’s versatile at the table, pairing with sea food, roast chicken or pork. Good value here. (Vic Harradine)

Ironstone Cabernet Sauvignon 2012
Lodi, California $18.95 (537597) 13.5% alcohol
Rich and perfumed aromas—dark cherry, espresso roast and notions of sweet vanilla precede palate-bathing ripe black plum and juicy black cherry with a spicy and earthy underpinning. It showcases good weight and is fully textured with balance and delicious moderating acidity. This pours particularly well with grilled steak—good value. (Vic Harradine)
