Ironstone ‘Old Vine’ Zinfandel 2011

Plum jam and wisps of cloves herald a medium-weight wash of sweet berry fruit and notions of milk chocolate interlaced with baking spice on the palate. It finishes with good, tangy acidity, piquant spice and a supple tannin underpinning. It’s softened since last tasted and pairs well with grilled ribs mopped with spicy barbecue sauce. (Vic Harradine)
