This opens with an effusive bouquet of dark chocolate, prune and roasted herbs. It sprays over the palate with a delicious melding of lively sour cherry, red currant and ripe, mulberry interwoven with luscious notions of dried currant and truffles. Mid weight with a lengthy finish, it’s reminiscent of racy red cherry and juicy red plum on the aftertaste. This pours well with hard, aged cheese or coq au vin. (Vic Harradine)
