Made in the Appassimento method - partially dried grapes, Refosco and Carmenère, were used in the production of this outstanding Amarone-like wine. Smoke, spice and gamey notes form the nose while the glorious flavours include spicy black berry fruit and licorice. This is medium-bodied, high octane (15.4% alcohol) clean, dry, and not at all jammy. Pour proudly alongside osso bucco with Portobello mushroom risotto. (VH)
