Rosehall Run ‘JCR’ Chardonnay 2010

VQA Prince Edward County $29.95 12.7% alcohol
Exquisite aromas of toasty oak, honeyed pit fruit and beeswax herald a structured, balanced and charming PEC Chardonnay. It’s mid-weight and gorgeously textured sporting a wash of crisp, green apple and ripe pear interwoven with tangy citrus and notions of tropical fruit and minerality. It finishes crisp and refreshing with complexity, deft balance and charm along with delectable flavour wrapped in oaky tones. Great now, it should knit together and blossom to 5-stars 2014 to 2019—this is quite special and worth picking up a few. (Vic Harradine)

Rosehall Run ‘Rosehall Vineyard’ Pinot Noir 2010

VQA Prince Edward County $39.00 12.5% alcohol
Incense, aromatic bitters and ripe, red berry fruit aromas abound on the nose of this racy, unfined, unfiltered Pinot. There’s a persistent, focused stream of lively red currant, sour cherry and spiced red plum on the palate broadening out to warmer, sweeter berry fruit on the tangy, lip-smacking finish. There are oodles of savory herb and oaky notes—16 months in French oak with 2/3rds new—garnishing the lingering aftertaste. Aerate/decant a couple of hours or open 2014 to 2019 pouring with boeuf bourguignon. (Vic Harradine)
