Inniskillin ‘East West Series’ Chardonnay 2010
Niagara, Ontario and Okanagan B.C. Vineyards $16.95 13.5% alcohol
Showcasing the ripe fruit of a warm Ontario vintage and the lively acidity from a cool one in B.C., this wine was aged 8 months in oak. Buttery, toasty, spiced aromas of fresh-from-the-oven apple crisp drift from the glass. Dry, medium bodied, with a smooth texture, the flavours are an intriguing mélange—ripe orchard fruit, hints of pineapple, a squeeze of citrus and a dash of white pepper. Pleasant, approachable and nicely balanced, it finishes warm and spicy. Enjoy with lemon-tarragon chicken and butternut squash risotto. Available from Inniskillin or the 162 Winerack stores across Ontario. (Susan Desjardins)
