Slightly off dry, the ripe orchard fruit shines through, mingling with tangerine, apricot and mineral. Just the right balance of acidity creates a bright, refreshing finish—a very tasty wine. Vineland Estates Semi-dry Riesling 2010

This was among the first Ontario Rieslings accepted by the LCBO, now entering its 28th year on shelves. Produced from vines brought from Germany 40 years ago, it’s almost transparent and offers heady floral aromas and notes of Asian pear, mango and white peach. Clean, fine acidity and a touch of spritz balance the sweet orchard fruit and citrus, creating a refreshing finish with a touch of sweetness. This’ll pair well with Asian cuisine. (Susan Desjardins)
