Lively aromas of piquant peppery spice and dark cherry/berry fruit leap from the glass with the slightest swirl. It races over the palate with a tang-infused stream of red crunchy fruit—passionfruit and pie cherry—decorated with ripe bramble berry and mulberry that replay on the finish and aftertaste. This is medium weight with good texture and plenty of tang and pizzazz that’s joined by smooth and mellow ripe dark fruit and mellow tannin at mid-palate and persists through the delightful finish and aftertaste. Pour with all manner of well-seasoned, grilled or roasted red meat after a two-hour aeration/decant. (Vic Harradine)
