And now for something completely different; it pours with a light-salmon hue, not far off the colour of a rosé from Provence where more than half of their production is rosé. Alluring aromas of strawberry and orange cordial are precursors to a sweet wash of candied rosewater on entry before oodles of tang-infused blood orange appears on the back palate and the clean and refreshing, balanced finish. It’s an interesting rosé that’s versatile at the table—sip on its own or with charcuterie, a deli platter, Salad Nicoise, grilled prawns or 3-cheese white pizza. (Vic Harradine)

• The following exceptional-value Aria Wine Company ‘Aria’ Sparkling Rosé was fashioned by the Charmat method with the first or second fermentation completed in a sealed tank before being bottled under pressure.
